“I often think of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the level of emotional intelligence he displayed when asked to represent and speak for all “the Negroes in America.”Dr. King always knew that we were not a monolith at the time, although the rest of the country was not.

Somehow, he managed to hold his course and focused, sometimes pain-fully, while conveying his message for Civil Rights. When I watch recordings of his speech, I can feel the trauma as a result of the drama he was dealing with during the civil rights movement.”

Continuing in Dr. King’s Footsteps…

My work has always been grounded in the belief that true equity in the workplace is not just an aspiration but a necessity. Inspired by his legacy, I created MRS. HR in a Box to help businesses integrate HR practices that prioritize fairness, equality, and justice for all employees.

We must remember that true progress happens when we choose to act with intention, ensuring that the workplaces of today create a legacy of equality for the generations to come. Dr. King’s work laid the foundation, and now it’s our responsibility to build on it.
